Itinerary

  • Day 1

    You will be picked up from your accommodation in Melbourne Central Business District by a coach. The tour from Melbourne starts with a visit to the lovely surf beach on the Great Ocean Road where you can enjoy a picturesque view. Your next stop will be the Memorial Arch which is of great historic significance. You can also take pictures at the Memorial Arch. This will be followed by a visit to another beach where you can relax and enjoy yourself.

    You will then head to the Lorne and Anglesea Pass where you can admire the spectacular scenic beauty of the coastal landscape and see kangaroos and other wildlife as well. Enjoy the beautiful drive along the Great Ocean Road that affords a picturesque view of the sea, the coasts and the dramatic limestone cliffs.

    Along the journey, you will get stops to look out for koalas hanging out in the wild and many beautiful birds like the kookaburra, lorikeets and parrots. If you are a wildlife enthusiast, this tour is an absolute treat for you.

    The next stop is the seaside town of Apollo Bay where you will stop for a sumptuous picnic lunch. You will then visit Otway’s rainforest, and see some of the tallest trees in the world, ancient plant life and lush ferns.

    The 12 Apostles on Victoria’s rugged coastline is a major tourist attraction and is famous for the majestic sight of the massive limestone stacks rising from the Southern Ocean.

    This will be followed by a visit to the beautiful Loch Ard Gorge, named after the clipper ship Loch Ard. The Loch Ard Gorge is another prominent tourist hotspot in Victoria, Australia. Enjoy a walk among the towering limestone cliffs, enjoy a stroll along the beach and sights of the Archway, the Razorback and Dumpling Pots. Hear the legendary tale of Australia’s most famous shipwreck from your guide.

    The London Bridge is an important part of the Great Ocean Road history and was made immortal through a famous nursery rhyme. It is the last stop for the day. London Bridge is situated at Port Campbell on the south-west Victorian coast and is famous as it started collapsing while Dave Darrington and his cousin were standing on it.

    After the tour for the day ends, you will be spending the night in Warrnambool Beach Backpackers, a homely and warm hostel situated only 300 metres away from the beach. Other facilities include a common room with licensed bar, large TV and DVD player, pool table, dartboard and internet café.

    The next stop is Tower Hill, a lovely sanctuary for native Australian animals. Tower Hill is ideal for nature walks and wildlife observation. Get to see wild koalas, wild emus and a host of birds unique to Australia.

    After Tower Hill, you will be taken to the famous Grampians National Park. A national park located in the Grampians region of Victoria, the Grampians National Park is rich in Aboriginal history and home to the majority of Victoria’s Aboriginal rock-art sites. Enjoy a fabulous hike to The Pinnacle in the Wonderland Range in the Grampians and take in the views of the magnificent Australian rocky hillside.

    You will be staying overnight at Brambuk Hostel.
